Perdido Bay CrossFit believes in getting results. We have helped many people, just like you, to find the results to optimum health that they had not possible. Anytime someone transitions to eating Paleo they have made an important decision in gaining back their health. To make the changes at the hormonal and cellular level it will take time feeding the body the right foods. This change can take as long as 90 days or significant changes can be seen in as short as 30 days.

Changing to Paleo entails more than just changing the foods you eat, it also includes changing habitual patterns of behavior associated with food. For many, food is more than just something we eat when we are hungry. Social gatherings have always had food as a focus, holidays have extreme amounts of sugar based goodies, schools give kids candy as special treats, and food replaces emotions on bad days.

Strict Paleo, our definition: eating Paleo foods such as our ancestors would have found them or eating foods so you can easily recognize their origin. Here is an example of what we are talking about at PBCF. Grilled chicken breast (protein), broccoli (carbohydrates) and avocado (fat), each of these you can easily identify their origin. We want you to shop in easy patterns, prepare easy meals and focus on eating all three nutrients. Your mental processes about food will change as much as your hormones will during a 30 day period. Think of strict Paleo as just jumping into the cold water vs. wading in slowly trying to get used to the water.

Each of you are very different and the foods you had been previously eating before starting Paleo were very different. Each person will see results at different rates due to their nutritional plan previous to making a change. If you had been eating lots of sugar loaded, starchy carbohydrate type of foods then you will probably take longer to change the way your hormones communicate with your cells than someone who had been eating only non-processed food for quite a while.

PBCF has studied nutrition for over seven years searching for the optimal nutrition plan for health. We found the Paleo Diet is the unique diet to which our species is genetically adapted. Processed food, foods high in sugar or foods chemically produced can never match the benefits of real food. We have come to understand that food is a “drug”, and it can be helpful or it can be damaging.
